Rots Bouw digitalised on-site quality control with Snagstream

Rots Bouw has been a household name in the east of the Netherlands for years. Over recent decades the family business has grown into an all-round builder with more than 40 employees.

Arjan Huinink is a site manager at Rots Bouw and tells us about a project they carried out for Antea Group: a new visitor centre and park restaurant at De Hoge Veluwe National Park. "A special assignment," Huinink says.

Of course it is important that construction digitalises. In this modern age, we as a builder certainly do not want to fall behind. So we went looking for tools we could use for that. We use Snagstream as the means to do our quality checks digitally and to record the handover.

Huinink takes us along on his round of the site.

Here, for example, you see a point that does not quite meet the mark. It runs a little crooked here, see? I then put that into the structural round. I can click on the drawing and find the position where we are standing now.

On his iPad, Huinink points out our location on the construction drawing and taps to place the snag there on the drawing.

Then I take a photo of the problem, because a photo simply says more than my description. I add those photos to the report. When I get back to the site cabin, it syncs over WiFi and the subcontractor gets a notification. After that we can look for a solution together.
