Meet Peter Brouwer, Market Launch Lead at Pro4all

Pro4all's sales team is growing. To introduce our new colleagues properly, we're letting them speak for themselves in this blog series. Today: Peter Brouwer, Market Launch Lead at Pro4all. He talks about himself, his path into construction tech, and how he sees the market, customers and Pro4all's role in it.

Who is Peter?

Peter Brouwer, 48, married with two grown-up sons.

Where do you live?

In Wierden, a lovely, close-knit village in the east of the Netherlands.

What sport do you play?

Tennis is my passion.

What's your favourite meal?

A nice, tender tomahawk steak from the Kamado grill.

What's the last show you watched?

A Dutch dating show called 'B&B Vol Liefde' (B&B Full of Love).

From construction to construction tech

How did you end up in construction or construction tech, and what draws you to this sector specifically?

I've now been in construction tech for more than 11 years. Back then I discovered by chance how tangible and down-to-earth this sector is, but also how much room there still is for digital improvement. My passion lies in streamlining processes, so specialists spend less time on administrative hassle and their work becomes easier and more enjoyable again. In short: do more, in less time.

What does your role at Pro4all involve, and which product or market do you focus on?

As Market Launch Lead, I focus on our international growth. I explore new markets and introduce our portfolio to construction companies abroad, so they can set up their project processes, from quality control to document flows, more smartly and efficiently.

The market and the customer

When you sit down with a contractor, project manager or safety coordinator, what's the first problem they share with you?

We're chasing the facts all day because information is everywhere and nowhere at once. Whether it's snag lists, safety rounds or revisions, the overview disappears the moment you switch between the office and the site.

What do you see as the biggest bottleneck in how construction projects handle documentation, communication or safety today?

The lack of a single, shared source of truth. Every subcontractor and project partner has their own way of working and communicating. As long as data stays scattered across WhatsApp, email and separate systems, you keep generating failure costs. The real bottleneck isn't unwillingness to digitise, it's that people still think in silos too often instead of in seamless chain collaboration.

We're chasing the facts all day because information is everywhere and nowhere at once.

From problem to solution

Which Pro4all tool or solution do you use most often to solve that problem, and how do customers respond?

Right now my priority is SafetyFirst, the easiest way to keep safety front of mind on site, in real time. Customers immediately notice that staff engagement goes up. What really convinces them next is that it's part of a full portfolio. Whether it's inspections or our advanced CDE solution PAVE for document flows, we solve the fragmentation as a whole. The response is often: 'Finally a partner that understands both the scaffolding and the project office.'

Can you give an example of a customer where the work demonstrably became more efficient or safer by working with us?

We're a serious international player: in the Netherlands, 34 of the top 50 construction companies use our software, and in Germany the majority of the top 50 work with our CDE. Our technology has already proven its value with market leaders, a great starting point for further international expansion.

Looking ahead

What, in your view, is the difference between a supplier and a genuine partner for construction companies, and where do you try to make that difference?

The big difference is in how involved you are with the bigger picture. In construction we can no longer afford to work from an 'ego' mindset, we need to move to an 'eco' mindset where transparency and chain collaboration come first. In my role, I try to build that bridge: not pushing whatever happens to be on our shelf, but innovating together with builders. By continuously gathering feedback, sharing best practices from the top of the market and streamlining processes together, you build a partnership that moves the whole sector forward.

What do you expect will change in the coming years in how construction handles data and digitalisation, and where does Pro4all play a role?

We're moving from reactive registration to proactive, predictive data, and AI plays a key role in that. At the same time, there's a pitfall: implementing technology for technology's sake. The success of digitalisation stands or falls with domain expertise. Pro4all has had its boots in the mud for more than 25 years. We make sure innovations like AI don't turn into a 'black box' of bureaucracy, but keep data understandable, reliable and directly usable in the contractor's daily work.

What do you hope people remember about you after reading this blog, as a person and as a point of contact?

That my door is always open. I'm always ready to think along, exchange experiences and share what I know about digitising construction, always driven by our core values and a focus on genuine collaboration. Whether you've been digitising for years or are just taking your first steps, I'm happy to help you move from 'ego to eco' together and make construction smarter and safer.
